How To Delegate A Non-administrator To Authorize DHCP servers

By using the authority to delegate the management of windows 2003 DHCP server, you can assign to a user (which is not a member of the Enterprise Administrators group) the rights and the authorizations to manage one or more DHCP servers in your Active Directory domain. To do this, just complete the following procedure:

Step 1: Open the Active Directory Sites and Services MMC console while you are being connected as an administrator of the enterprise.

Step 2: In the menu "View", click on Show Services Node.

Step 3: In the tree structure of the console, click on NetServices.

Step 4: Click on Sites and services Activates Directory.
Step 5: Click on Services.

Step 6: Click on NetServices.

Step 7: In the menu "Action", click on Delegate Control.

Step 8: In the Delegation of Control Wizard, click on Next.

Step 9: On the Users or Groups page, click on Add.

Step 10: The dialog box "Select Users, Computers, or Groups", under Enter the object names to select, enter the name of the user whom you want to add to the DHCP administrators group. And then click on OK. You may type the names of several users separated by semicolons, then click on OK in order to add several users in only one operation. When you finished add users, click on Next.

Step 11: In the screen "Tasks to Delegate", click on Create a custom task to delegate, and then click Next.

Step 12: In the Active Directory Object Type screen, under Delegate control of, click on this folder, existing objects in this folder, and creation of new objects in this folder, and then click on Next.

Step 13: In the screen "Permissions", under Permissions, activate the check box "Full Control", and then click on Next. This operation activates the rights of access control for the user account or group account being delegated in this procedure so that the rights allow him to add, modify and remove new objects of DHCP class type in the NetServices folder.
