How to Fix a Bsod Without a Recovery Disk and or When You Can't Log Into Windows

Ok you know what a BSOD is right.

Tired of all those tutorials that tell you to log onto windows when you can't even get past the load screen? Scratching your head saying what on earth is that? Feeling confused because you're only a PC beginner, don't want to spend money getting it fixed or don't know how to?

Relax. This tutorial will make it easy for you. All you need is :

A USB TO IDE HD SATA Cable.

A Second Computer/Laptop.

1. You need screwdrivers + simple DIY knowledge to deassemble your PC and carefully take out the Harddrive. Go on to the internet and search on how to do this.

2. Once you have taken out the harddrive - get a USB to IDE HD Cable WITH the AC Power adapter. Plug it into your harddrive - the cable and the power cord. Once you've done that find a second working PC/Laptop.

3. Plug the USB of the Harddrive from the IDE Cable of course and connect it to the second PC/Laptop. Turn on the computer and you should see the drives of your harddrives working perfectly.

4. Work out which disks are the errors. BSODs are a Windows error usually caused by a systematic failure in the harddrives. If you have 2 paritioned harddrives in your harddrive, such as a C and an H - see which one is infected. Most usually it is C, or the drive which has Windows installed to it.

5. On the second computer go to Start > Run and type 'cmd' in the option and click ok or press enter.

6. You'll see a black screen come up. Type this command : chkdsk/  *the letter of the drive with the BSOD* on it. I.e.  say my 'C' drive has windows on it (hence it has the BSOD is most likely there so type in CMD : chkdsk/h

7. Now this is the drive that is from your harddrive connected to your PC from the USB cable. So the computer wont check it that easy - it will check its own harddrives. The Second computer will tell you that the volume you chose isn't available to be searched like that on demand, and whether you'd like to 'schedule' it for the next time Windows Restarts.

8. Type 'Y' when it gives you an option of Y or N.

9. Then re-start windows and you will see a blue screen ( a light blue screen ) and it will tell you that it shall check a drive that has been scheduled for maintenance. This is the corrupted drive you chose. Do not press any key within that time limit that they give and let the computer do the rest.

10. Once the computer has finished clearing errors that means that your BSOD has gone in most cases like mine. All you do is get the harddrive and put it back into your first PC and Windows will work again. Done and dusted :) Hope it worked! Spread the knowledge!
