How to Remove Spyware

Getting rid of spyware can be difficult, especially if the malicious spyware infections start to portray themselves as spyware removers. How can you distinguish the spyware from the real spyware removers?

These days, if you surf to certain websites, you can see pop-ups that look just like a window from your operating system. Usually these warnings tell you that you have a spyware infection. Of course this is fake, the website cannot scan your computer for spyware and has no way of knowing if you actually do have spyware infections.  It is a trick many people fall for.  They click on the link, and they end up on a page where they can download a free spyware remover.  The user downloads the program, expecting it to fix his/her computer, but it does nothing. Well, it appears to do nothing, it installs a suite of spyware programs on your computer. Your free spyware remover was actually the spyware itself.

To distinguish the real deal from all the spyware cons, you need to be careful.  For example, do not download anything from pop-ups. And also check if the pop-up has ?Internet Explorer? in the title of the window. If so, then close them right away.

You can recognize actual spyware removers by checking their website. Do they have a real domain, or is it hosted on some free hosting such as geocities.com? Also look for reviews on spyware/adware removers. And if you have to pay for your software you will be 100% sure that its not contaminated with spy/adware. Free software is not always safe software.
