Someday or another, sooner or later, we do need to call up the tech support to fix something or another. May be one morning we get up and get to see BSOD on computer or we get one of those scary error messages on the screen of the computer or maybe we try switching on the computer but nothing worked. Perhaps it's not with our computer, but the internet is completely down and we have to call the ISP. Sometimes when we call the tech support we end up having nothing worked but sometimes it works as well. Sometimes it becomes a hassle but sometimes it works smooth. So researching on it for a long I finally made out why people have so much stressed out after calling a tech support to repair their computer issues. So I could finally jot down seven points to make it a little less stressful.

First the customer should never panic with the problem. I know this is easier said than done when the computer blinks and we are starring down the barrel of a deadline. But the things would be less weird and stressful if we don't freak out seeing our computer ill. There are good chances that the problem is not as bad or as expensive as we are thinking. Secondly, before calling the technicians we should always check the obvious reasons for the occurrence. Like is the computer is plugged in or not, or is the surge protector of the computer is turned on or not. We should always check that all the cables coming out the computer are plugged in properly? Or while entering the password is the caps lock on or off or are we typing the password correct? The technicians make us run through this drill many times because sometimes the problem is nothing but we make it a fuss because we panic. Thirdly we should always be prepared or equipped with all the warranties or the service contracts with the product dealing with the company as it saves a lot of time for the technicians as well as for us. They do not have to request for another service number for us. We may also keep a track of the serial number of the computer usually at the back or the bottom of the system. Fourthly, we should always be specific while addressing a problem. If we just say that our computer isn't working will not help us at all rather we need to specify in what way it's not working. It needs to be as specific as possible. Whether it's an error message or BSOD or freezing or security, we have to mention it all.

The next, fifth one is, whenever we see any error messages after something gone wrong we should take out time and write down the messages so that when we call up the tech support we can mention them exact what we are actually seeing on the screen. The sixth one is, sometimes the cause of our computer problem is something that changed in the computer or some incident that has happened recently, and we should always make a note of that such as an addition of new hardware or deletion of a software or a power disruption or addition and deletion of a service or any upgrading of software. Sometimes changes like this can cause some unforeseen problems with other things that may or may not seem to be related to your problem. When you're talking to your tech person, make them aware of any changes or additions you made before you started having problems. They'll be able to tell you if these changes are related to your trouble. And the last one is that we should always keep a note of the people we are talking in the whole process of the tech support, how many times we have been transferred or what they have done to diagnose the problem. It comes in handy the next time you face the same issue or call up the tech support.
