As a computer tech and teacher clients often ask me that question. There are several reasons this happens. In this article you will learn the reasons. Hopefully you will not hear that age old statement"I can't open it".
There are many different types of cameras and programs to create photographs now days but unless both computers have the same software installed, it is impossible for the sender and recipient of the e-mail to view the photograph. Unless they send the pictures in Jpeg format. Every computer and operating system can view JPEG pictures
JPEG stands for joint photographic experts group. It is a file format designed to be cross platform. Which means it does not matter what operating system your computer is using Apple, Windows, Linux or what ever both ancient and modern operating systems. It is designed for the world wide web or the internet.
Also it is a means of file compression. This is important because you do not want to send large files because large files take a long time to send. 95% of the images you see on the web today were created in the jpeg file format.
To make a jpeg is easy. In most photo editing software programs. Go to file then go to save as make sure jpeg or jpg is selected and click save. Now your photograph is able to be viewed on any computer in the world. Just remember to resize the picture to something reasonable and to save as jpeg as your last editing step. Because every time a jpeg file is closed you lose a little quality of the photograph.
Just remember to always send your pictures in JPEG so every one can enjoy them.

Men's Club or Support Group Needed in Columbia, SC
By: Errol | 09-07-2008
Where can guys meet and interact with other guys in or around Columbia, South Carolina? I'm married with daughters and my job keeps me around mostly women and children (elementary school teacher) - so I need a way to let loose with men. The problem is, I'm not a sporty guy, but more of an intellectual. A group of guys to play a card game like spades would be great - or a hiking group. I enjoy plants (bonsai, Ikebana, and terrariums).
