Would you like your workshop or garage floor to look good for many years to come?

Would you like your workshop or garage floor to look good for many years to come?

There are few things you need to know before engaging any flooring contractor.

  1. Preparation: Concrete floor whether it is new or old has to be cleaned and ground. The major reason is to help paint to penetrate concrete pores and to form a base coat.  Without proper concrete preparation paint will not properly adhere to concrete surface and will become loose shortly after application .
  2. Selecting the right product: Do not settle for cheap domestic concrete sealers, as they are generally do not withstand vehicular traffic and in particular hot tyres, resulting in bubbling and chipping. Don’t waste your money on cheap flooring products. Try to use only Industrial grade 2 pack epoxies from leading brands. They are generally more expensive but the properly applied coating will last for years and will not fail, saving you money in a long run.
  3. Selecting the right applicator: When selecting your flooring professional always ask if you can visit and inspect some of their previous work. Go out of your way and inspect contractor’s previous work, saving yourself from possible disappointment. Ask your contractor about floor cleaning, maintenance and life expectancy and also what it would cost to resurface the floor, in case you decide to change the colour in the future. Generally resurfacing is quiet an easy task and a good contractor should explain all the stages involved and give you an indication on costing.
  4. Accepting a Quote: Always read final print and ask for start and completion dates to be included in your contract.

Hope this helps.

The construction market is very wide and employers are always trying to hire the best employee and plant operators who can do the work professionally.
