Are you organising a children's birthday party in Leicester

If you have a child with an approaching birthday you may be considering organising a birthday party. If that is the case and you are also considering getting caterers in to help you out for the day, here are a few pointers to look for.

You should expect to pay around £4.50 per head for your food. The party food you will be ordering will need to be sourced and prepared and then delivered by your caterer. It is a time consuming business and not as simple as putting together a McDonalds Happy Meal.

In your party buffet you should be able to cater for a range of children's tastes. Of course there will be sandwiches, but in the main, these should be kept simple. Kids love cheese and ham sandwiches so don't confuse them with to many marinades.

At a party kids are grazers and as we all know they will navigate to the sweetest foods in the greatest abundance. If it is your wish you can laden the table with crisps, and chocolate rolls, biscuits and sweets, but this is not necessary. There are plenty of nice savouries that kids can enjoy, such as home made pizzas laden with yummy toppings and little quiches. Carrot and cheese sticks are great and as well as being healthy add a splash of colour to the table.

As a treat we always tend to dot around pots of mini sweets which panders to the kids penchant for sweet things but without sending them home with E number syndrome.

If the thought of having to cater for a party full of kids as well as organise the games and dress the house or village hall is just too much, call in a caterer who will at least take that burden off of you.

Remember that often parents like to eat as well so why not ask your caterer to provide some sandwiches and pick ups for the adults ( and some pots of sweets).
