‘Iron Chef’ Style Cooking Class Guests to Cook, Compete and Eat

Behind The Scenes Catering & Events (BTS), headed by a diverse repertoire of culinary experts, and caterer for intimate gatherings and global events, announces the latest addition to their popular cooking series. On Tues., July 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the team at BTS will indulge the fantasy of aspiring chefs, with an “Iron Chef” style competitive cooking class.

Led by BTS Executive Chef Marc Therrien, guests will cook, compete and eat during this team competition. Guests will be divided into three groups. Each group will prepare the following menu and set-up a buffet presentation for dinner. Groups will be judged on presentation, preparation, and taste. Everyone will enjoy the complete dinner. The three-course menu includes: Summer Fresh Spring Rolls with Thai Basil and Mint, Shiitake Mushrooms, Yellow Bell Pepper and Zucchini Sambal Vinaigrette; Baby Arugula and Spinach with Poached Pear, Candied Pecan, Serrano Ham, Vermont White Cheddar and Grilled Flat Bread served with Granny Smith Apple Vinaigrette; and Honey Apple Grilled Flat Iron Steak, Port Shallots, Roasted Marble Potatoes with Horseradish Chive Crème Fraiche, and Caramelized Root Vegetables.

Classes are held at BTS, in their state-of-the-art commercial kitchen. Class participants will laugh, learn and taste as they indulge each of the senses in a diverse range of courses. This class is a hands-on experience you will never forget!

Classes are limited to 20 guests, to ensure personal interaction and instruction from Executive Chef Marc Therrien. The two-hour classes include a wine or cocktail pairing, sumptuous cuisine and professional chef instruction.
