Recently, when I went to a fast food restaurant and ordered a BLT sandwich, the next person in line asked me, ‘BLT sandwich!!!... What's that? A lot of people keep on wondering what a BLT sandwich is. Well, you do not have to wonder any more. BLT Sandwich is a perfectly balanced smoky, sweet, salty and crusty bacon, lettuce and tomatoes sandwich. A lot of people who know the BLT sandwich describe the BLT sandwich as part of what makes the food dreams! It is a low calorie, low fat and low carbohydrate sandwich.

All you need to make this American specialty BLT Sandwich is:
•4 slices of high fiber bread

•8 bacon slices
•Tomato slices
•2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
•2 pieces of large crisp lettuce leaves

To get the mysterious BLT Sandwich well made,
1.Microwave or fry the 8 slices of bacon until they are crisp and drain off any excess fat with a paper towel. Set them aside.
2.Toast the bread slices until golden brown and place two bread slices on clean plates. Add lettuce leaf on each and top the lettuce leaf with 3 or 4 tomato slices.
3.Add 3 or 4 slices of bacon and spread the other two bread slices with mayonnaise. Make sure you lay the mayonnaise side on over the bacon and slice the sandwich into two.
4.Serve it.

While making the BLT Sandwich, make sure that you do not leave the stove you are frying the bacon on as the bacon grease could easily spatter from the pan or get too hot and catch fire. Also, make sure that the tomato slices are place on paper towel covered plate in order to drain excess tomatoes juice that can cause the BLT Sandwich to become soggy.
You can add fresh fruit pieces, pickle slice and any beverage to transform the BLT Sandwich into an   easy- ready lunch. Optionally, you can serve it with French fries.

The Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwich, (BLT), has been an American classic for years and years. Except for the bacon and mayonnaise, which are high in fat, and the bread or toast, which are high in carbohydrates, the sandwich is basically a "salad between two slices of bread or toast".If you already have a salad sandwich, then converting it to a salad should be a snap, and the advantage is lower carbohydrate because of eliminating the bread.
