However, in this article, we are only going to elucidate about online copywriting that involves mostly SEO to attract readers from the search engines. Marketing copywriting determines the following:

  • Readability of your content
  • Whether it excites readers to read further
  • Whether readers click on the links
  • The interest of the readers to watch embedded videos
  • Leave query
  • Finally purchase your product or service

Copywriting makes sure that the reader navigates from one point to another smoothly without getting confused, stuck or distracted. Understanding the mindset of the readers is very important to create a good content. It’s important to tailor your content according to the mindset of your target audiences who would eventually read your content.

  • Keyword research- Keywords are essential to make your website appear on the popular search engines. Better ranking on search engines would mean more traffic and hence more business.
  • Title- The headline or the title of your write-up plays an important role in giving your reader an idea about what the content is about. Here too, one must include the keyword as far as possible.
  • Keyword placement- The primary keywords should appear in the first two lines of your copy as far as possible. They should also be placed in the entire write-up, however, not be included forcefully unnecessarily where it’s not needed.
  • Persuasion- People do not want to spend all their time on your website, no matter how great it looks.  If the content is not engaging they’ll quickly move on to the other site.
  • Subheads- Subheads break the monotony that comes with the continuation of paragraphs. It makes the content look engaging and visually appealing.
  • Call to action- Last but not at all the least is making a call to action. It involves subtly asking the readers to contact for more information or to purchase the product.
