A form of your lab report writing may vary according to the demands of different teachers. But whatever the shape, the content in report writing is basic. Successful report writing has to be about your findings and their significance. When writing a report, make sure that you’ve stated not only the results, but a chain of logical conclusions you’ve gone through, as well. In your lab report writing, give a vivid description of methods used. There is one advice on writing a report: take good lab notes and write down your observations.
Here are the important components of your report writing.

This part of report writing has to be specific. Clearly state the problem you are investigating, and make predictions of the results. It’s a good idea for writing a lab report to mention the research work that has already been done in this field of knowledge by other people. Try to provide a sophisticated explanation of the problem.
Lab report writing. The Procedure
In this part of report writing you describe the equipment used, and the procedure step by step. It’s better to describe these steps in the past tense when writing a report. Past present tense is okay, too. The purpose of this part of lab report writing is to teach you how to give detailed description of your actions. In report writing you should also list each piece of equipment used, and include a drawing of the equipment as it was set up. In writing a report on both the steps to the procedure and listing equipment, give precise quantities for all amounts or measurements described.

In a couple sentences summarize your entire work and turn your procedure steps into a final result. You can use illustrations in this part lab report writing. Graphics need to be clear, easily read, and well labeled. If during your lab work you made mistakes, make sure you state them in your report writing, too.
