Before The Day:

1) Embark on a hair, skin, and nail care regime at least 6-8 weeks prior to the marriage ceremony. Start with regular facials, manicures, and pedicures and request your beautician to recommend good quality beauty products that will suit you.

2) Avoid sunburns and tanning, and if you have to go outdoors, use good sun blocks with at least 20 SPF.

3) If your job demands stress and tension, go for relaxing massages or aromatherapy sessions. This will relieve you from the stress marks and dark circles.

4) Have adequate sleep and sufficient water to hydrate your body. Your skin and hair needs to look healthy from inside.

5) If you are planning to have your make up done professionally, book at least 3-4 months prior to the day and consult him about the color of the dress you should wear on the day. If possible, a trial session of the make up works best.

On The Day:

1) Your makeup should be balanced with the bridal dress and your jewelry.

2) While applying make up, you should also keep in mind the time of your wedding. For example, if your wedding and the reception is at night, then you can go for a heavy makeup, but if your are getting married in the morning, keep the make up minimum.

3) The season of the wedding also matters while choosing makeup. A spring or summer wedding will demand light make up with pastel shades whereas a winter wedding will look perfect with bright and warmer shades.

4) You eye make up should be well balanced with your lip make up. Natural eyes with a light touch up looks best.

5) Do not leave out neck, ears, back, or hands while applying foundation. And if you are marrying in the summer months, try to sit in an air-conditioned room, or at least in front of a fan so that you don't sweat, and ask somebody to carry a compact and some tissues.
