Chi Flat Iron Scam

Everyday there are new scams popping up on the internet with dishonest masterminds behind them. Some of the common scams are fake designer handbags, MAC Makeup and NFL jerseys. The popular CHI Flat Iron is not exempt from being scammed.

There have been reports from consumers that purchased a CHI flat iron for less than $70.00 and the products were shipped from China or Hong Kong. Yes, it is true that at one time CHI appliances were manufactured in China but recently Farouk systems pulled their products from being manufactured in China because they were dissatisfied with the flat iron quality.

Don't be fooled and think that as long as you purchase your CHI flat iron in any other country other than Asia that you are avoiding a CHI scam. Back in February 2008, officers of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's Quebec City confiscated over 4,000 counterfeit CHI hairstyling irons. The investigations that lead to the bust were initiated by a complaint from a consumer that believed her iron was a counterfeit. When analyzed, the iron was determined to be counterfeit.

Many eBay buyers have been leery about purchasing CHI flat irons on the auction site because of the ease of potential scam. These scammers are crafty, intelligent and maintain one-step ahead of their consumer prey, making it very easy to fool a consumer with identical products.

Most CHI flat iron owners whom have purchased the product online very likely have a fake CHI in their possession and have no idea it is not authentic. This number seems alarming as it should be.

The reason for this limited warranty is because the CHI flat iron was designed for salons and salon use. Salon professionals should help you make the decision on purchasing the right products for your hair; including a flat iron. So to keep this standard, Farouk Systems, Inc. authorizes professional salons to sell CHI flat irons and recommends only purchasing CHI flat irons from an authorized professional salon.

At this point it would be very difficult to pull CHI products from legit online retail stores. This could actually hurt sales for CHI appliances.
