Dry Flowers - Adding A Natural Elegance To Your Space

A beautiful alternative to fresh flowers can be dry flowers. If appropriately played with the different types and sizes of dry flowers, a creative mind can come out with wonderful arrangements. Apart from beauty, there are many logical reasons for preferring dry flowers over fresh flowers like they are natural, eco-friendly and long lasting. Moreover dry flowers are less expensive as compared to the fresher ones. And the task of arranging them gives us the best option to preserve your favorite flowers even when they are out of season.

Some of the blooming flower arrangements are -

Vertical - This type of arrangement is mainly done in narrow and tall vases, accompanied by one long flower or green build up in the center. To highlight the height, a large round flower is placed at the rim of the vase to balance the height created by the tallest flower. You can choose either of these dry flowers- Delphinium, gladiolus, and iris being the tall flowers they are surely going to fulfill your desire. And now your exclusive vase is all set to ready to be placed at the corners of your bedrooms or even drawing rooms.

Horizontal - This specific horizontal arrangement is perfectly appropriate for coffee and dinning tables. As their height is low, they can be arranged from starting till the end of the table which will cover your dining table fully. Moreover their low height doesn't obstructs the conversation.

Baskets and dishes are the most apt type of vases, which can serve the purpose. So one needs to place focal flowers in the center itself, hanging slightly over the edge. Apart from this, fillers should be inserted around the focal blooms to give the arrangement a fresh look.

Triangular - Triangular type of displays contain many variations based upon the angles involved or based upon the angles to be maintained. In each case, stems which are extended from the center till edges should not be longer than the base layer, and should gradually decrease in extension as you reach the tip. Pale flowers preferably should be placed on the edges, while the more colorful and multicolored are based around the center to create balance and a focal point. The filler flowers should be arranged in such a manner so that the entire set-up is able to enhance the triangular shape.

Crescent - Crescent designs are shaped like the moon as the name specifies. The initial shape is shaped mainly by the “line flowers”. Which can be followed by the natural curve of the leaves and the same can be done using dried flowers soaked into the required shape. Focal flowers should be placed on the lower part of the curve to balance out the complete look.

Flowers like cockscomb and hydrangeas, as the central flowers surrounded by small and tiny dry roses, and fern and straw flowers used to fill the gaps, giving a stunning look.

So these are some of the arrangement options. Much more can be created by one's own sense of imagination. All that is required is little bit of concentration on the kind of flowers available and where exactly are they need to be placed.
