Easter Decorating-Easter Decorating Starts at the Front Porch with This Whimsical Beatrix Potter Easter Vignette

This simple yet beautiful vignette display will only takes minutes to arrange, and you will be able to personalize it by decorating with some of your child’s favorite Easter stuffed rabbit toys.  Of course make sure that they’re okay with them being outside temporarily.   It’s sure to send a message that Easter has arrived when your guests walk up to ring your door bell.

We used the following items:

2 patio chairs side by side (we used black rod iron chairs from a bistro table set)

  • Stuffed Rabbit Toys (we used our child’s Beatrix Potter’s Collection from the story of Peter Rabbit).
  • 1 small decorative embroidered rabbit theme related pillow
  • 1 small wooden basket (we used a white one but any color would do)
  • 6 ceramic decorative colored eggs

Arrange the bistro chairs side by side. Next, arrange stuffed rabbit toys on top of chairs.  Fill basket with artificial eggs, we used ceramic one’s for this project.  A decorative bow could also be added to the basket handle. For a finishing touch arrange a small decorative theme related pillow on one of the chairs next to the rabbits. A pretty potted plant at the foot of the chairs or behind adds a touch of color and texture to your Easter decorative vignette display.

Note: An outdoor bench could be used in lieu of chairs for this project.  We also recommend a covered porch for this project to protect stuffed rabbit toys from poor weather conditions. However, if it happens to be a beautiful day, then an uncovered porch area would be fine.

Another idea:  If you would rather have your vignette display inside the house, try an entry way using two dining room chairs side by side, a hallway bench or a sideboard table to create your Easter display.  Most importantly, get creative with what you have outside or inside your home and have fun with it.

Because Tingatinga died already in 1972 there is only a restrict number of original paintings. Today it is well known that fakes were produced from all famous Tingatinga motifs.
