Fiesta Decorations

Fiesta is the Spanish word for party and boy do Mexicans know how to throw a good party.  In Mexico, any reason is a good reason to party, whether it be a holiday, birthday, wedding, baptism, or a myriad of other reasons.  The most important aspects of a fiesta are food, fun, and simple fiesta decorations

When considering a fiesta style party, the first item of business is deciding on the food.  Mexican food is great because it is so varied that there is generally at least one dish that even the pickiest eaters will enjoy.  The first item of cuisine to consider is the appetizer.  Chips and salsa or guacamole make great and easy starters.  For those a little more adventuresome, taquitos, which are small tortillas stuffed with chicken and deep fried, also make great appetizers.  The main dish can be anything from make it yourself tacos to enchilads, fajitas, nachos and everything in between.  As for the beverage, the classic margaritas (virgin or non-virgin) are the perfect addition.

When it comes to decorating, a few quick and affordable items make all the difference.  First, grab a few serape table runners to throw down on the bar or table.  You can also use the serape blankets as a tablecloth if you prefer that route.

Next, a few maracas and sombreros to use as a centerpiece will bring color and authenticity to the fiesta.  The maracas are brightly colored and also can act as noise makers for any children present.  The sombrero can act as a chip basket if so inclined.

With these simple ideas, your next fiesta is sure to be a hit.

In my hometown, the natives of the land and the Malays would usually engage in trading and sell goods that are considered homegrown in their respective places. This is made possible because it would only take a ferry-ride to reach their destination. Hence, the bartering of goods usually happens on the shore; and, most of the time these goods would include textiles. They were not just ordinary textiles, though. They were first class cloths interwoven by the very hands of man.
