How To Build Your Very Own Dollhouse!

Planning to make your daughter feel special? Then the best way would be building up a dollhouse for her. A dollhouse will surely make your girl feel like a doll and she will look up to you as a hero.

Now, building a dollhouse is no big deal. If you do not have sufficient time to build a dollhouse manually, then the quick-build dollhouse is meant to the best option for you. They are affordable and convenient to use. Everything is made up of robust wood with minimal damage during usage.

Also, a person with general basic knowledge can assemble the pieces together with just a wood glue and screwdriver. Also, a booklet of simple instruction is also accompanied with the kit so you need burn up your energy reading the blueprints. The best part of it is that the company has made it easier by completing all the finishing work, set up of windows and doors, you just need to assemble the pieces.

But if you have got plentiful time but still stuck up and not getting any idea from where to begin. Then, you start making a list of materials you will need. To make your work simpler, just make a note of the things:

Brushes, Plywood, Wood Glues, Paints, Scissors, Paper -Pencils, Yardsticks, Saws, Circular  Saws, Common Nails, Hammers, Keyhole Saw, Rulers, Sandpaper, Saws, Variable-speed Drills, Dollhouse Kits.

Now, follow the below enunciated instructions to start with:

  • First of all, decide the usage of the doll house. Are you planning to add it as a showpiece to you miniature collection? Or will give it as a gift to your girl? Deciding the usage will make a lot easier the construction.
  • What scale you should use? Generally, a 1/12 scale is quite popular for building furnishings and accessories. But if the doll is 15 inches tall, then using a 1/12 scale is worthless.
  • Finalizing the shape and size will be moving a one ahead. Generally, a one-story, one-room cottage is the best option to begin with. Though, several choices ranging from multistory concoctions to a Victorian dripping are available.
  • Now draw a pattern using a simple pencil and ruler. With a minimum six pieces: base, three side walls and two roof pieces, you can build a one-room cottage.
  • Using a three-quarter inch wood for base would be fine and 3/8 inch for walls and roof would be a good choice.
  • Now mark the holes for the doors and windows using a ruler.
  • Cutting the wood is the next step. You can do this by your own hands, but using a circular saw will save a lot of time.
  • Cut out the doors and windows. To give it a fine touch, try using electric drill for drilling the holes.
  • Make all the edges smooth using sandpaper.
  • Assemble the wood pieces using the wood glue and nails.
  • Use sandpaper again over all the nails.
  • Lastly, paint it if required.
