Publishing Craft Books - What You Know Is More Valuable Than You Think!

Times are tough and we're all looking for ways to maximize our craft income. If you've never looked at publishing craft books before, it's about time you did. What you know about your craft is valuable and people are prepared to pay you handsomely for it. What's more, with the tools you now have at your fingertips you can handle the whole craft book publishing process yourself!

I do mean "at your fingertips". Your computer is your own craft book writing, design, publishing, marketing, sales and distribution machine. With a remarkably tiny investment you can run an international craft publishing business from your own home. When I say tiny investment I'm talking about not much more than you'd spend on a family size pizza! You control everything and, with digital publishing, your craft ebooks could bring you in profit margins of 80% or more.

Any crafts person can do this. Just look at any of the online bookstores and you'll see lots of craft books on virtually any subject you can think of. What's important is that if there are already books on your subject that's not a negative, it's a good thing. Traditional craft book publishers are very smart people, commercially speaking, so the existence of books on your subject proves that people are already buying. In other words, it's profitable.

Of course working from your own computer you don't have the high overheads of those traditional companies so for you publishing craft books is a no-risk and potentially money-spinning venture.

And why not? No matter how many people do your craft, no matter how many books, there's bound to be something you do that's different. You'll have a unique view of things, you'll have your own special craft tips and tricks. They're all valuable information to someone new to your craft.

Digital craft book publishing is the most profitable avenue, but of course some people prefer to have a proper book to hold rather than something on their computer. The great news is that you can do that too! The process is pretty much the same all the way through, it's just the end result is a hard-cover book. Not so long ago you would have had to set up a whole print run costing thousands of dollars - and risk not making your money back. Now, with print-on-demand publishers, you can have just one copy if that's all you want. Or half a dozen for friends and family, or fifty to sell at craft fairs, etc.

Some print-on-demand publishers will even handle the ordering and distribution for you and then just pay you your profit margin. What a great way to make a living from your craft!

Of course no-one can say your craft book will be a runaway success but if publishing craft books is something with such low risk and such high potential profits, why wouldn't you look into it?
