Which is Really the Best Rewards Credit Card for You?

Before signing up for a credit card application, make sure you know the credit card company’s rewards system. Aside from convenience, credit cards could also earn you points that you could exchange for items or gift certificates. And because of the tougher competition, credit card companies are offering a lot of rewards to target your lifestyle and spending habits.

With a wide selection of credit cards, it can be quite a chore to find the best rewards credit card. Although some rewards systems allows you to earn points that you could exchange for a wide range of items, many rewards systems are now targeted to specific spending habits of the cardholders. Here are some examples.

Miles Rewards – Instead of the usual points that you earn, you earn miles for your purchases. This means that if you have earned enough miles, you can actually fly for free to your chosen destination. If you are to avail of this card, make sure that you are a frequent flier. Remember that you cannot exchange miles earned for bonus points.

Gas Rebate Rewards – Since this is a necessity, a lot of people are going for gas rewards. This rewards system allows you to get rebates on your gas purchases with selected gasoline companies. So if you frequently fuel up your own car, then this is the best rewards credit card for you. Usually, the percentage of rebate could go until about six percent. You have to check with the different credit card companies to know which would give you the best deal.

Cash Rebate Rewards – This is one of the most popular rewards systems because you get instant cash rebates for whatever purchases you make. Unlike earning bonus points and having to exchange them for items you might not even like, the cash rebate rewards allow you to either get a discount, or put the cash straight into your savings account. If you are out for cash, then this can be the best rewards credit card for you.

Bonus Points Rewards – The most typical rewards system, it allows you the flexibility to choose from a wide range of items that you could exchange for bonus points you earn. Usually, your credit card bill should keep track of the number of points that you already have, which you can trade for household items, gadgets, groceries, shopping certificates, among others.

Now that you know the options made available for you, it is just a matter of choosing the best rewards credit card for you. The best tip is to know your lifestyle. If you do not really travel a lot, then you might opt to go for the cash rebate or bonus points reward that would allow you to maximize the benefits of owning a credit card.
