Generally people think that conducting private investigations is a task that can only be performed by a private investigator or a private detective. However, they are unaware of the fact that with a little knowledge of the latest and vast technology that we have now, anyone can gather the criminal records necessary for the search during an investigation process.

In the past decades, if someone wanted to extract some concealed information about an individual, he would simply engage a private detective for the process. In fact, this used to be a very normal and obvious thing way back in time. It was done, for private detectives and investigators were the personals, who used to have all the links, assets and resources, that could help one unfurl a secret or ascertain affairs and other dealings. The advantage of hiring a professional investigating service was that, it made sure that all the information that the client got in the end was relevant and reliable to the highest order at the same time. However, one (the client) could not control the time of the investigation and further, deliverance of the final outcome report.

But the times have changed now. Today, it is quite easy for an individual to conduct an investigation by self, even without any sort of assistance from a detective. Criminal records are made available to an individual, as long as one has a legitimate reason. If truth be told, there are many reasons that can be thought and used now-a-days, for accessing the criminal records, for crimes have become rampant and anyone could be a criminal these days. Thus, to guard oneself from the perilous people, one must know their real identity. Therefore, one can get a hold of these records and advance with its investigation easily, as these records can help one know if there were cases filed against the suspected person in the past, the grounds & outcome of the case. One can even avoid dealing with anti-social or scandalous people, who may be living near one's residence or workplace. These credentials can hence be the beginning of one's own investigation and one ought to do this with an extra care as one's safety is the prime motive for doing it.

With the use of the Internet, it is now a lot easier to authenticate the records of an individual and cross-check if its identity is genuine. The modern efficient technology that we now have has cemented the way for many folks to have a raised level of entrée to the criminal records. The files can be found in the database of the search engines present over the internet. Therefore, the people can also download, store and retrieve the data that they need just at the click of a finger. And this is not the end. One can even share this data with other people who too may be interested in it. Through the use of the services of internet, one can get a hold of the records of other people, just the way professional investigators and detectives do. Also, it can be obtained without spending too much. And in the end, the biggest benefit is now you can also call yourself a detective.

In many cases, especially when the crime is publicly scorned (i.e. DUI, domestic violence, animal cruelty, sex offenses) yet a bona-fide defense exists, one should consider waiving a jury trial. The case is then tried to only the judge. This can make it easier to focus the case on evidence and argument that matters most toward a not guilty verdict, rather than spending a lot of time and effort persuading twelve jurors to put aside their biases.

May be at some point, Generation Y will learn. While there are those who believe social media is opening the gilded doors to a new world of joyous connection, some might wonder whether there's a slight downside for those who are able to make that joyous connection. This dour notion comes to me on hearing of a labor tribunal in the United Kingdom. It reportedly upheld Apple's right to fire an employee for saying something not entirely flattering about the company on his private Facebook page.
