Usually, a marine survey takes an entire day to complete all the requirements. But, before compiling the final report, a marine surveyor has to ensure that the report meet all the standards and regulations set by the official governing body of the concerned state. Important components of the survey report:

  • Complete information regarding the identification of the vessel which includes its name, official number, dimensions, layout, description of configuration and brief description of inventory equipments.
  • A description on the type of build, making details, modifications if any, description of the present condition of the boat, observation, safety features and suitability issues should be discussed in detail.
  • Recommendations given on priority that addresses for the vessel to be safe, and standard recommendations or suggestions that are important for brining the vessel into full compliance with the ongoing industry standards. Standards that define an acceptable level of safety and security for the vessel are taken into consideration as well.
  • The appraised value that also includes replacement and market value figures should be mentioned as well.
  • A cover letter and a disclaimer or statement of limitations describing sections which are not covered under the general inspection should be discussed as well.
  • Photographs taken in the vessel inspection duration should be included as well.
