It is suggested that you buy a Chinese SIM card, provided that you have a un-locked GSM mobile phone. - Tips
Budget about $5USD per day for tips.
Did i mention there is a shop on every Yangtze river cruise ship? The on board shop sells daily use goods, and also embroideries and Chinese paintings. The items could be extremely expensive, if you ever decide to purchase, make sure you have the shop owners' direct phone and email, in case there is a problem after you get out of the cruise ship.
