Cost on a Yangtze River cruise explained

When you research China vacation options, you may want to look for one that is all-inclusive since you know your total trip cost upfront.

China’s Yangtze River cruise fares are all inclusive, it will cover your room on board, your 3 meals a day, and evening entertainment, plus all shore excursions!
If you are looking for a relaxing vacation where you do not need to worry about having a wonderful time, then consider a cruise. You will know exactly what it is going to cost.

Typically, a few items are not included, here is the list

  •  Alcohol
Yangzi Explorer is an exception with alcohol bills on board, they include all wines free of charge.
  •  Massage service
There are several types of massage service, the price varies among the ships, expect to pay about $30-$50USD per treatment.
  •  Laundry service
Cost to do laundry on the Yangtze ships are approximately the same as they are on the land. Typically it is $5USD for shirts.
  •  Telephone calls
The Yangtze cruise cabins do not have direct phone to call outside, normally people have to use the front desk mobile to reach the land, it would be expensive if you make international phone calls. It is suggested that you buy a Chinese SIM card, provided that you have a un-locked GSM mobile phone.
  •  Tips
Budget about $5USD per day for tips.

Did i mention there is a shop on every Yangtze river cruise ship? The on board shop sells daily use goods, and also embroideries and Chinese paintings. The items could be extremely expensive, if you ever decide to purchase, make sure you have the shop owners' direct phone and email, in case there is a problem after you get out of the cruise ship.

Of course, you can choose not to use any of these additional services, and pays nothing else beyond your cruise fare. Happy Yangtze River cruising!
