Cruising To Alaska For Seniors

Posted: Jan 26, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

A luxury Alaska cruise to the Great State of Alaska is the perfect destination for seniors who want an exciting vacation without too much walking or stress.  By taking an Alaskan cruise, guests only have to unpack once at the start of the cruise and once at the end of the cruise.  They can sleep soundly in the same bed for the duration of the cruise and dine on gourmet cuisine served by the same waiters in familiar surroundings.  Of course, excellent food and pampering service are a given on a cruise.

Once onboard after a relatively short flight or drive from one's home city, guests can sit back and relax for the next seven days (or more!) while the wondrous and majestic scenery unfolds in front of their very eyes.  The cruise ship will sail past snow capped mountains, rocky islands and serene coves.  Perhaps one will see a pod of killer whales or dolphins.  During the summer months, huge humpback whales are regularly sighted as are sea lions with their calves.  Bald eagles can always be seen soaring above in the blue skies with snow capped mountains as their backdrop.

As the reason for this cruise is the majestic scenery, senior cruisers can just sit back in a lounge or on their private cabin verandahs and just watch the scenery go by.  Could not be bothered to go up on deck for breakfast?  Just order in!  Enjoy a multi course breakfast or lunch served in your cabin.  As most of the Alaskan ports consist of small towns, seniors can take a short stroll in the towns to check out the attractions.  Feeling adventurous?  Then book one of the many shore excursions that are fully hosted.  Most of these shore excursions have seniors in mind so they are not too strenuous nor do they involve much walking.  Again, just sit back and take in the scenery!

Cruising to Alaska's scenic Inside Passage must be one of the most rewarding vacations for the senior traveller.  As many cruise lines feature Senior Rates, visit us at www.AlaskaCruiseExperts.com to see what Alaskan cruises we can offer you!
