Full Speed Ahead

Many have the pedal to the metal and its full speed ahead. But hey, where are we going? The truth be known,  many are simply on a treadmill that they've built and they're going nowhere. Others have the hammer down; however, they are navigating not with Garman, but with outdated and scientifically disproved Newtonian principles. Is anyone aware that the world has changed and IS changing?

While many are racing towards building everything GREEN (can you say Al Gore?), we have far more serious problems.

As Lipton and Bhaerman wrote in their just released book, "Scientific studies have incontrovertibly established that human gluttony and pollution are causing the greatest mass extinction since dinosaurs disappeared 65 million years ago. If present trends continue, half of all species will be extinct within this century." Oh come now, who cares about 100 years from now. Let's talk about more immediate concerns.  :-)

In our blindness to the subtle realities of life, we're missing some very importantly pieces. We need to refocus.

Our perceptions of 2012 are too often not based on fact but fear, founded in preconceived ideas not precognition, and highly pre-suppositional according to our personal bias. Where we are reminds me of the story of the ship captain who saw a faint light straight ahead during a heavy fog. He sounded the signal for the light to change course. The reply from the light was, YOU change course. The captain once more demanded that the light ahead change its course. Then the message came back, I am the light house, I recommend YOU be the one to change course.

We, humanity, need to change course and soon!

We have been warned by more than a dozen indigenous societies from many centuries past. It's not just the Mayans who have left us the many signals. Are we reading the signs or are we just moving full speed ahead? It's a question we all more urgently now than ever, need to know!

As a spiritual-futurist, I have a BA degree majoring in history. One cannot know the future without knowing the past which holds clues to what is on the horizon. The world is in such a rapid expansion of knowledge that we are close to entering a tipping point that will forever change earth as we know it.
