My Twitterficiency Score is 50%.  What's Yours?

If you have been on twitter today you can't help but be aware of Twifficiency, which has been sweeping the globe at an incredible pace.

What is "Twifficiency"? Basically it is a little app that calculates your "twitter efficiency" and gives you a percentage of how twitter efficient you are.  This percentage is based on your number of followers, how many people you follow, how often you tweet, and how ofter you read tweets. Just the kind of thing social media addicts love.

It began showing up early this morning on twitter and swiftly began to fill the page with the efficiencey rates of the users.

It all seemed pretty harmless until people began to realize that these results were being automatically posted without the permission of the user, which then led to accusations of the application being used to "invade your account".  And aside from that, because of the unbelievable amount of tweets, it becoming quite annoying.

That runs contrary to scholarly archaeology. But the questions remain.

Part of the reason this caught on is because of the automatic tweeting. Users couldn't decide whether or not to promote the application, they were made to.

Imagine joining FaceBook and having everyone in your email contact list sent a solicitation to join from your address.
