Veterans Day Michigan Residents Happily Celebrate War Heroes
DETROIT, M.I. – Veterans Day Michigan residents are putting up their American flags all over the state. Interestingly, the end of World War I formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. That moment created an official holiday to celebrate the bravery and valor of each Veteran that has fallen or has lived on to tell their tale. The holiday has even extended to current soldiers who are still fighting the wars of this nation.
Just as all over the country, Detroit MI is celebrating with various parades and events throughout the state. Although there was a low turnout for the Detroit Veteran's Day Parade on November 6, most believe it was because it was a week earlier than the actual holiday. Other big cities of Michigan are staying with tradition and celebrating today.
