What's wrong with the world we live in

The information age is it really such a good thing? The advent of new technology has transformed the world we live in. Don't believe me just turn on your computer! Everything that takes place in the world no matter how insignificant is virtually transmitted instantly for all to see and read. This certainly isn't our fathers era for sure. I remember my father coming home from work, showering and changing into more comfortable attire, sitting down in his Lazy Boy recliner with the daily newspaper and reading events that most likely happened days prior. Walter Cronkite was on national news talking about the previous days events. If there was a problem in Libya or Tehran we almost never knew of it as did most of the world.

Today however if there's protesters in London we see it as it unfolds. Twitter ,Facebook, My Space and the entire internet capture everything in real time. All of this information is a good thing, or is it? Look at what just transpired in Egypt and because of instant information the protests are spreading like the plague. Iran, Libya, Bahrain and others have their young citizens in revolt. They have become emboldened because of what transpired in Egypt. Granted they have their valid points but is this the way to accomplish change? Just because it has supposedly worked in one country doesn't mean it will work in another and the jury is still out in Egypt. What will eventually happen there? Democracy? Not as we know it. Go back to 1979 Iran, they revolted in the name of gaining freedom and democracy. What did they get? Well I would have to say it wasn't what they had fought for to say the least.

Will the same happen in these other countries? Let's hope not for no one should have to be subjected to the type of authoritarian constraints they live under. I don't have much hope for these young people getting the type of government and freedoms they are protesting for. There always seems to be people ready to take control in a power vacuum promising one thing and eventually delivering something entirely different. Hard line religious fanatics are ever waiting to pounce on power in the name of God.

I guess my point is that the information age has allowed the discontent to spread like wildfire. I don't believe in repression but there is such a thing as too much information. Just how long until these very same things are happening in our town squares fueled by radicalism? Truth is that humans can't live without structure, laws and conformity. Just a small inconsequential everyday law such as speed limits are designed to protect us from ourselves and others, without them we would tumble into a state of chaos and destruction on our roads and highways. Some radicals would say this is an intrusion on their rights. For every action there is a consequence! We have to have governance otherwise we will perish.

When woman was created, God made her different from man. I think God also created the word for teasing - ribbing.

A great deal has been made of in alternative archaeology books about how and why our technologically primitive ancestors were able to carve out, transport and erect massive multi-ton stone blocks into megalithic monuments. Since there is no doubting the existence of these structures, our ancestors must of in fact possessed an advanced technology or had assistance from those who did (i.e. – ‘ancient astronauts'). That runs contrary to scholarly archaeology. But the questions remain.

Men don't worry when they get dunlap disease or their deep facial wrinkles become more prominent. Men don't care that their fingernails aren't perfectly manicured or if there's a smidgeon of dirt under them. Men don't care that their hairstyle isn't quite up to date or just perfectly combed. Pedicures? No real man would do that either right?
