Star Trek And The Forex Market
Last night I was watching Star Trek and realized that the, timeless, gems of wisdom contained in it could be used by anyone who wanted to become a better trader.
1. - Being different is not bad!!
I know Spock would agree with me on this one! Being different is not a bad thing; actually it can be one of your biggest assets.
Forex Trading is a zero-sum game. That means that for every dollar that someone earns there is a sad investor on the other side who lost it. I hope you know that 95% of the traders in the forex market are losers. Then you would agree with me that being different is a good thing; especially when trading.
2. - Work with purpose.
In Star Trek every character knows what is his/hers purpose in life. They, as every forex trader should, work for personal fulfillment. If you don't enjoy what you do for a living you are going to quit the first time things get difficult. And believe me things get difficult sometimes when trading!!!
3. - Have Self-discipline.
The characters in Star Trek are highly disciplined individuals that are in full control of their emotions. This is an important one!!! For a forex trader to aspire to any kind of success with his trading he has to be disciplined and follow his system rules without deviation.
4. - Be self-aware
The characters in Star Trek have self-awareness. It is important to know yourself before your trading session begins. Think why are you trading the forex market? Are you disciplined? Do you let your emotions take over frequently? Know yourself and your trading would be a happy experience.
5. - Hard Work
The Star Trek crew is formed by hard workers, they get things done. Hard work doesn't mean, for you, to be glued to your monitor all day. Actually overtrading is a big liability for most forex traders. It is in the smart work that you are going to find your biggest achievements. If you trust your system let it work. Use it as it was designed to be used and, again, never deviate.
Anyone with the determination and the right information can learn how to trade the Forex Market. You could use it to complement your salary or as your main source of income
