Root of the problem-
As stated in the above error message, this problem may occur due to any of the following reasons-
- An update conflict is there with SharePoint database and updated database is unreadable.
- SharePoint Server database is damaged and MS SharePoint Server can not recognize it.
Resolution-
Use the following steps to recover SharePoint data in such situations-
- Rollback the database and remove the updates. If it fixes the problem, then you can re-try installing the updates.
- If SharePoint database is damaged, then you need to restore database from the most recent and valid backup. In order to recover SharePoint 2007 and 2010 database to its original state, the backup must be updated and in working state.
