File Recovery for Inaccessible Files on NTFS Partition

Under certain situations where you can not read, write, delete, copy or move files from/to an NTFS (New Technology File System) file system partitions. This behavior of Windows computer might make your critical files inaccessible and cause serious file loss. In such situations, File Recovery solutions are required to resolve the issue.

Grounds of the issue:

There could be several reasons of this problem. The major ones among them are as follows:

The files use ACL: You may not be able to perform any operation on the files if they are using ACL (Access Control List). To solve this problem, change the permissions of the files by taking ownership of files. If the file is using non-canonical ACL, then you can’t use some security tools for showing or changing permissions.

File path issue: If the files exist in the paths, which are deeper than MAX_PATH characters. In case of file path issue, the files become completely inaccessible and unusable.

File names contains reserved name: If the name of the files contain reserved names in Win32 name space, you may face this situation. To resolve this issue, use a non-Win32 tool for renaming the file.

File names include invalid name: If the files have invalid names in Win32 name space, you might encounter this behavior of Microsoft Windows.

File system corruption: This problem may also occur due to corruption of the file system. Due to file system corruption, operating system can not locate the files and thus the files become inaccessible. Such behavior causes file loss scenarios.

In such situations, you need to format the hard drive and reinstall the operating system to fix the issue. In such cases, formatting a disk is capable of sorting out all the disk related logical issues. But, it also has a disadvantage as it removes all the files from the hard drive and causes serious file loss.

Under such scenarios, quality File Recovery Software can recover files the lost data. These are robust third party tools that can thoroughly scan the whole hard drive and extract all data from it. File Recovery using such software is fairly easy and safe due to their read-only and non destructive nature.
