How to resolve Error 50 in iPod Shuffle

Designed by Apple Inc., iPod Shuffle was introduced as the smallest music player that uses flash memory instead of hard disk. It is a compact digital audio player, which has easy access controls.

Sometimes, when you connect your iPod Shuffle to a Windows based computer system, you may encounter a few errors. In such situations, your iPod Shuffle needs to be restored which may result in loss of data. To overcome such situations, you can restore your data from a valid and recent backup. However, in case of unavailability of backup, you will need to use a good quality iPod Data Recovery Software to recover your lost data successfully.

Take an instance- when you try to perform usual tasks like adding or removing music from iPod Shuffle while it is connected to a Windows 2000 system, you may come across the below error messages:

“The iPod ‘Administrator’s iPod’ cannot be updated. An unknown error occurred {-50}.”

iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod”

These error messages state that your iPod Shuffle needs to be restored. In addition, you may get the same error messages repeatedly each time you attempt to add or remove files.

Cause:

The above error occurs if the iPod Shuffle is installed with the older version of iPod software or when its software is outdated.

Resolution:</b

To resolve the above error message, restore and update your iPod Shuffle to the latest version of iPod Shuffle software available. Restoring your iPod will erase all the data stored in the memory device. So make sure that you have a valid and updated backup to restore your lost data.

But, if you have not maintained the backup or it is incomplete, then you will need to use a powerful iPod Recovery Software to recover and restore your lost data completely. Designed by highly qualified technicians, these iPod Recovery applications incorporate high end scanning mechanisms to ensure quick and safe recovery of your data.
