Mdb File Corruption On A Server

Posted: Feb 19, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

All computer files including MDB files, when saved on the server, facilitate their access by various computers available within the network. However, the file gets corrupted if the administrator reboots the server while the file is open or in use. The next attempt to open the file, is fruitless, as an error appears and the file does not open. In order to surmount the hazards of corruption, a backup comes in handy in restoring inaccessible data. But, if there is no backup available, then you need to Repair MDB File using a third-party file repair tool.

Let us suppose, that you have an MDB file saved on the server. Now, while you were using the file and making some modifications, suddenly the server was rebooted owing to which access to the MDB file gets lost. On trying to open the file again, you find that the file is not willing to open and instead you receive error messages, somewhat like:

"Microsoft Access has encountered a problem and needs to close"

"The database needs to be repaired or its not a Microsoft Access file"

"Unrecognized Database Format"

The moment you encounter any of these errors while opening the file and the file does not open, then the file is said to be corrput and will bot open even on subsequent attempts.

Cause
The MDB file is corrupt, owing to which the file refused to open. It might have become corrupt due to improper closure when the server was rebooted and the file was in use. Ultimately, the data stored in the file becomes inaccessible.

Resolution
MS Access comes with an inbuilt feature that helps in recovering data from corrupted MDB file. This feature is known as 'Compact and Repair'. But, many times this feature fails to repair the corrupted file and hence cannot recover any data.
In such a case, you need to use a third-party application to fix the corrupted or damaged MDB file. A powerful MDB Repair software can be used to retrieve inaccessible data from corrupted MDB file. Such a software can scan and access database repair File using scanning algorithms. Additionally, these software restore the repaired MDB file in its original format, i.e. no modifications or alterations are done to the original file.

MDB Recovery software repairs and restores the corrupted or damaged MDB file accurately. Apart from recovering Tables, Queries, etc. this repair mdb software also recovers all database fields including images. This read-only software supports MS Access 2007, 2003, 2002, and 2000. It is designed for Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2003, and 2000.
