NSS or Novell Storage Services is the frequently used file system in Novell Netware operating system. Due to its advanced features, users set up this file system on LAN or a file server which are using Novell Netware. This uses the tree algorithms for maintaining its directory structure and so Tree Blocks are the significant part in terms of its integrity.
But the similar errors make the data cautious users to fall in the deep considerations of Novell recovery:
“NSS Free Tree block xxx is corrupt on pool "SYS"”
The Novell server may fail to boot or the volume may found to be corrupt, pools may fail to mount whereas the repetitive re-starting of system may also be seen. This could be some creepiness moving with the file system and VRepair may also fail to solve the issue.

Open C:NWSERVER directory and create a new file, named NSSstart.cfg.

At this stage, you can now run nss /PoolRebuild=sys rebuild command. You can also use -z"/poolautodeact=sys" in Netware 6.5 without activating pools.
If the pools fail to mount while repairing, use nss /poolrebuild=sys /purge
Always bear in mind that you have to remove /poolAutoDeactivate=all from the created file after the success in the process. And if you are concerned about Novell partition recovery from the hard disk, use third party applications and serve the purpose.
