A Drunk Blind Date? Its Time For That Matchmaker
My first blind date was only a few months ago. I hadn't had a date for a few years and my friends decided to set me up with a woman that they knew on my 28th birthday. I picked her up at her house around 7 P.M. My friends told me how beautiful this women was, and when she opened the door I knew why they said this. She was a gorgeous blonde, probably about six feet tall and a very fit woman at that. However, I knew that looks weren't everything, and this blind date was going to prove it. We hopped in my car and took off to one of my favorite restaurants, a seafood grill downtown. This restaurant was quite nice, and even though it was my birthday I was willing to spend a decent amount of money if it meant pleasing my date. On the ride to the restaurant, she seemed very shy to be around me and spoke only about ten words. This made me feel very uncomfortable. Twenty minutes later we arrived at the restaurant and took a seat in the most open section of the restaurant so that it wouldn't be awkward. Our waitress came out to take our orders and my date, whose name I will keep confidential, ordered a tequila sunrise. I figured that I didn't want to make things more awkward than they already were so I decided to order alcohol as well, but I decided a beer would be more to my liking. The chef came out next and began to cook our food. As soon as my date had finished her drink she excused herself to the restroom, only to return minutes later with another tequila sunrise! Once she finished this drink she followed it with four more, and began to act belligerently drunk. The minute we finished our food I called for the check, paid for the food and her extensive alcohol tab, and then dropped her off home, never calling her again. I am only a social drinker and a very light drinker at that, and I believe that if I would've used a matchmaker to set up this blind date that I could've found a girl more suitable than me. I needed a women with a good personality, not a women with an appetite for tons of hard liquor. I believe that using a matchmaker definitely would've made the date quite a bit more pleasing.
