I think a lot of it is about Asian culture. I mean, we are raised to be polite and friendly. We value getting along and non-confrontation above standing out and getting what is ours. We on the other hand are raised to conform, to not stand out in a crowd, if we did, we could be sure of being punished as children. Is it any wonder, most Asian guys act the way they do?
I think there is a lot to be proud of in Asian culture, but I also think the average Asian guy is to rigid and stone faced in social settings. It's a product of social conditioning and also stereotypes and neither help in getting the girl.
