Do you have an old friend you want to date? Somebody that understands and knows you well? Yet amidst your well grounded friendship, you still have doubts in asking, afraid that he/she might not feel the same way and will be the end of your friendship?
It is truly remarkable and wonderful that somewhere in your friendship you have a strong affection for somebody, for your friend. However, if you think about it deeply, this can be the best route for a great relationship ahead.
Relationships established in friendship are firm and strong, according to behavioral studies. It is that special bond in your friendship that carried you through years of support, understanding and enjoying each other's company. This is a normal and most natural feeling that so many individuals had experienced and got through it successfully.
Certainly, you must be very careful to preserve the friendship that you share, however when you feel the way you feel right now, it can successfully be done. Keep in mind, that when your relationship ends, that the friendship is likewise shattered. Many individuals will tell you that the friendship will still be there.
So where and when do you both stop the friendship and start being lovers? Most individuals establish the distinction in greater affection, since the severity of a relationship in dating typically leads to sexual demonstration.

Your friend for sure wants to hold on to your friendship as you do; just assure her/him that whatever you both will decide upon, you need the friendship more than anything else, and it does not have to stop.
The moment you have revealed your feelings, things may now be very different. There is that possibility that you might earn a lover and lose your friend or have both or lose both. So be very, very careful.
Observe your friend and foresee his/her reaction. With a lot of assurance and trust on the bond that you created on your friendship, she/he may understand. But tell her/him slowly and give your friend time.
If you are rejected, never take it against you. Keep in mind that only your offer to date is rejected and not you. When after this your friendship turned different, just continue to admire her/his qualities that you value so much and maintain the friendship, even if at a distant level.
If on the other hand your offer to date is accepted, go ahead and arrange for a wonderful date. Remember, regardless of that romance being inserted to the friendship, continue the friendship so as when the romance will not work out, a strong bond of friendship will be able to survive.
During your first date with your friend, you should first be his/her friend and not his/her date. Being friends on your first date will enable you both to relax and enjoy the evening. This is just your first date together, so never overdo the romance.
Remember, you respect and cherish this individual as a friend and as a great company. So, for now, just give attention to being yourself, and be at ease with each other. Your friend will find your date tranquil and feel comfortable with this new growth and stage in your friendship, this way. Do not rush things; when there is that special spark happening, things will just progress automatically.

I am a 32 year old single woman who is attractive,confident,educated,friendly and open. I was in a very bad relationship about 6 years ago.
