Christian Dating: are You Obeying God?

What is important when a true Christian is dating? What guidelines should that person follow to ensure they are obeying God? Where should you look to find Christian Singles?

We are going to cover these questions with a few tips based on what the word of God says. We must remember that when we look for any answers you must start by looking in the Bible. How wonderful it is that God gave us his words filled with the answers to all of life’s questions. Lets begin…

God Is First:

Ecclesiastes 12:13

13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

To obey God you have to put him first above all other things. You cannot lose sight of making God a number one priority in your lives. You should seek a single Christian who also believes in putting God first so that both of you can learn from each other and grow spiritually. Remember that God has a purpose for your life and he knows who the best Christian partner will be to ensure that his will can be accomplished through you.

Only Date a Bible Believing Christian:

2 Corinthians 6:14

14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Nothing good will come from going against Gods word. His word says we should not date unbelievers, so guess what…DON’T DATE UNBELIEVERS! What usually happens when someone stays in this circumstance is that they themselves fall away from God by the influence of their unsaved partner. In order to find and follow Gods will for your life you must obey him and not put yourself in this position.

Take Steps Together To Obey God:

Philippians 2:2

2Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Make sure you both understand what needs to happen to grow as Christians together and ensure that you are obeying God together. Hebrews 13:4 reminds us that God wants sexual purity before marriage. Do not give in to sexual sin and you will find yourselves so much closer to God as a couple than you thought possible. Begin to pray together and seek pre-marriage counsel from your local Pastor. Taking these steps will please God and he will bless you as a couple in amazing ways.

Where To Look? Start At Your Church:

When searching for that Christian single you need to start in your local church body first. Only after you have done that can you look at new options from trusted sources. There is a kingdom minded Christian Dating website that I would highly suggest called SinglesOfFaith They are known for keeping God first in all there services which is why I recommend them. Click here to be directed to their website --SinglesOfFaith

Finding a kingdom minded partner will help you press forward in finding Gods purpose in your life. For you to do something amazing for God you must ensure that the home has God in its Core, and that will all start with finding the right Christian partner for you. (When you do find your Christian partner that you fall in love with, make sure you give God all the glory!)

"kingdom minded site- singles of faith" What about christianmingle, christiancafe...? This article is completely just propaganda.

And "God is love," and he promises that his love is sufficient, to try to find love from any other person on your own, in my opinion, is not within his will. The feeling of "in love" on a neurological level, won't last more than 3 years, because we weren't designed for romantic love. We were designed to love eachother, and the Lord did will for man and woman to unite, but he is the one that sent Eve to Adam and as sure as every single person was made in his image, and he has numbered the hairs on their heads, when it's his timing, and you're completely in love with HIm (finally whole as a person), if it's his will he'll send that person to you.

In the meantime, seek fellowship with other Christians and close friendships. I know our culture obsesses over romanticism but, you can't serve two masters. Either Love God or Love the World.
