Just when you thought that internet dating companies had exhausted all the different dating methods, dating in the dark is set to be the newest dating game for singles to enjoy.
Dating in the dark is set to truly test those who claim that looks don't matter. Where certainly not saying that only ugly people participate in dating in the dark events, but this is the first dating concept where you meet a potential date, chat and get to know each other, all before discovering before their appearance is revealed.
As a dating and chat site owner, I hear many stories where singles chat online only to be disappointed with the actual meeting takes place due to physical appearance. A recent survey our members participated in uncovered that 40% of singles feel that looks are not important, rather personality was their main focus when meeting other singles through dating and online dating services.
So what is dating in the dark? Because of the total and complete darkness, you are able to savor your meal and enjoy the company of your dates and arouse all the senses excluding sight.
Events begin where participants arrive at a normal bar atmosphere. Singles mingle and chat like any other social outing. Normally after around 30 minutes or so, participants are taken to the dining room or restaurant by waiters in night vision glasses, as this stage of the evening becomes total darkness. They are then seated with the help of staff for obvious reasons. Pre dinner drinks are served followed by dinner. There are normally six to eight people per table.
After dinner, a speed dating concept comes into play. For those not familiar to speed dating, singles are paired off for a five minute date, before moving onto the next date. Couples are seated face to face and have five minutes to weigh up their compatibility. Singles keep a list of who they are attracted to, and at the end of the night who ever has picked each other can exchange contact details to take things further.
When the introductions part of the evening finished, the dating in the dark participants leave the dining area and go back to the bar where they mingled at the start of the night. It is at this time their physical identities are revealed and they can decide whether to take things further.
