The meaning of love can be compared to a coat of many colors. Dating is affected by almost all manifestations of love, and starting it is driven by a locomotive engine whose main fuel is attraction. Attraction is the first thing that brought you together, the response to the question whether there is chemistry between the two of you. Many people when they think of love conjure thoughts of that positive feeling that makes you promise heaven and earth to your date, but there is a different kind of love that many people either ignore or are not upbeat about. This is self love.

It is easy to begin wondering how in the world loving thyself can be important in that relationship which two people who have chemistry have coined. The question is not that. The question is how it is possible to be able to give your love to somebody else even before you are able to love yourself. The true and right answer is that you cannot give another person your love in dating or in marriage if you cannot love yourself. The cradle of loving anybody and being able to receive love is through loving yourself.

There is no way you can be able to understand anything before you have been able to experience it. Think of the reason many schools are after those teachers with experience; because they have hands on experience on the job, and there won’t be any purpose to take them through an internship period. Self love is like that. Incase you have never been able to love yourself; it is also very hard to give or show intimacy to anybody. It is true in any relationship that before you can give your dating partner all that you can gather, you must give yourself some.

Self love does not mean search words and phrase as self centered, egotist or conceited love, which is unfortunate because it is the kind of love that many contain. These kinds of people have a tendency of putting their self centeredness first, even to proportions which hurt so much. Self love can be that kind of respect which you first give yourself before reflecting it in your dating instances, enough that it makes you to refrain from taking harmful wrong turns, tantamount to getting all of your requirements met without ever hurting anybody else, as you take good care of the anatomy you call yours, as well as your spirit and mind.

Self love is many things, from doing those types of activities that you really enjoy, like reading, swimming, walking, taking classes, volunteering to socializing. It is also the cultivation of those qualities that you desire in your dating partner within the content of you character. The more you are able to cultivate and practice acts of self love, the more you will be able to appreciate your partner. You will also be in a perpetual position to attract people with quality in the heart of your life.
