Recently I watched an excellent movie called "The Tao of Steve". In this movie, an average guy lived by a simple philosophy which helped him attract a wide variety of attractive women.
While you're probably aware of the fact that most movies are the product of some screenwriter's imagination, there is a lot to be learned about the main character's philosophy.
Simply by adopting the three basic principles of Dex (the main character in 'The Tao of Steve), you can be on your way to increasing your success with women.
Here's how to incorporate Dex's ideas into your life...
1) Eliminate your desires and all thoughts of having sex
In order to meet (and attract) women, you have remove all thoughts of having sex with her. This is important because most women can tell if you're only looking to get laid.
So when you're talking to a girl, don't worry about trying to go home with her. Instead focus on enjoying the conversation for the sake of the conversation.
Once you eliminate your desire to have sex with her, you'll become free to relax and live in the moment.
2) Always Be excellent around her
Women go for guys with elevated status. If you can do something excellent around her, you'll increase your status level and make yourself worthy of her attention.
What's great is when you prove your worthiness she'll start to pursue you.
So if you do something that's both interesting and different from the average guy, you'll appear to be a valuable person who she should know better.
3) Retreat when you have her attention
After you have proven yourself and created desire in your target woman, move away from her.
If you've done the first two steps properly, she'll pursue you. Since you now have proven your worth, retreating will make her want to work for your attention.
There is a saying which talks about how human beings pursue the things that retreat from us. So when you have her attention, moving away from her goes against what she's probably used to. In essence, you've become a prize which she must obtain.
While the 'The Tao of Steve' is only a movie, there is a lot to be learned about how to succeed with women. You really can learn a lot just from applying the three techniques that's described in this movie. So if you have time, I definitely recommend you check it out and learn how to become more like Dex.

I am very smitten with a girl I met a few years ago at a music store I was working in. She was initially annoyed when I first called, (her number was on her demo CD), but came in about a year or so later and was friendly and seemed to be flirting a little. Given her initial reaction I wanted to ask her out, but didn't. I guess I was happy she was just being friendly.I've been sending her little notes on her My Space for the past year, and she hasn't responded. I finally got a chance to see her about two weeks ago, she did a CD signing at a show, I was surprised at the very warm reception I got. She gave me two very nice hugs, one was a lingering hug with her holding me very tight, and we chatted a little, she said she'd like to play some music with me sometime. I gave her my number and Email, and said I'd like to chat with her, and get together sometime. It's now almost 14 days, and I havn't heard anything. Should I give this one more try, and ask her directly to meet sometime or for her number/Email, or should I forget it?

Ok sorry for some reason this didnt work the first time. Alright Ive pretty much fallen in love with a girl ive known forever and i am getting signals back from her but not exactly sure how to go about advancing things the situations.....complicated. Some background:Im a Preachers Son and she used to go to the church we attended before there was a big conflict and it split. We went one way her family stayed put. That was 3 years ago i hadnt seen her since, but than suddenly i got to high school and saw her and she...well she got absolutely beautiful. Come 2nd semester i find out i have 4th period with her and we sit right beside eachother. Now we started to catch up and she is just amazing, she always makes me laugh and shes one of 2 people that ive ever met who can make me smile no matter what. I always am messing around with her making her smile and laugh. Theres been some times when ive felt a spark but you can never trust that. One of her freinds keeps tellin me i should ask her out because she thinks shes keeping me open as an option but she doesnt really talk to her that much so i have no idea. All i know is that im in love with her and that i make her happy. If i dont get into one of the service academies than were Both going to the same college and we go to some of the same camps every summer. I just dont know if i should jump right into a relationship with her, having dropped off the face of the planet and just showing up 3 years later. I also dont even know how she really feels about me so i dont really want to bust in guns blazing.
