How to Attract a Man

Catching a man's attention is much easier than most women think. Yet, why then do so many women who want to be in a satisfying, loving relationship have trouble finding even a casual date? It is true that women outnumber men, especially in terms of those looking for something serious, so the women who are finding a man are the ones who are taking proper initiative.

I am in complete agreement that after a long day at the office, the idea of curling up on the couch with take-out and a movie is much more appealing than the idea of dressing up and heading out for a night on the town. Unfortunately for you, however, you are not going to meet men in your living room! I am not recommending that you go to all the clubs and other noisy hotspots in your city to meet men. I hardly find that type of environment to be ideal for meaningful conversation, but would visiting a bookstore or listening to music at a jazz club be a hardship? Any place where you feel comfortable just hanging out is a good place to start because you are more likely to "just be yourself" as we are encouraged over and over. Also, it is important to head someplace where you know you will be able to hear yourself think, and more importantly, hear your potential dates attempts to introduce himself.

Now that you are up, dressed and out of the house, there is another mistake women often make. What is that? It is "getting out there" without getting ready first! At the very least I recommend a glance in the direction of a mirror to catch a stray piece of spinach in the teeth or wayward bangs. Preferable is a full-length mirror so that you can make a proper assessment. What is the use of perfecting your makeup if your outfit is sloppy? While "looks are not everything," your appearance does have an effect on how others view you - particularly men. Taking care of yourself shows that you also know how to care about someone else.

Further, I beg you, please do not be one of those women who decides to make a last-minute grocery shopping trip on her way home from the gym! Gym apparel was named such for a reason - nature did not intend for it to be seen outside of a room with exercise equipment! If take the time to put even a little effort into your appearance you will feel more confident, which will in turn effect the way you carry yourself, which will result in your appearing more attractive to others. No matter where we are or what we are doing, we are sending out signals to those around us. Sometimes these are more powerful than we realize and as a result we can be telling men to "back off" without realizing it! Make an honest examination of your own and avoid crossed arms, which are a definite "leave me alone" signal.

Do not go overboard in the cosmetics department, but a dab of lip gloss and black mascara can go a long way. Even if you are a Granola Girl, keep this advice in mind: the natural look is beautiful but be careful with the naked look on your face, you want to avoid looking tired or washed out when trying to catch a man's attention. Play up your assets, downplay your flaws -- there are plenty of materials to read, how-to videos to watch, and professionals to consult on the matter of personal beauty. Do not be too shy to ask for some help or an honest opinion on how you are doing in the fashion department.

Finally, I cannot stress enough the importance of eye contact! If your eyes are locked on the asphalt, averting the gaze of all who pass, how will you notice the men who are undoubtedly noticing you? Eyes are said to be the "window to the soul," so let him see how beautiful you are inside!

Men need feedback to be sure that you are approachable. If you aren't sending the right signals, but the man is picking them up from another woman who is definitely interested, who do you think he will choose? Hmm... Let's think about this: you -- where there exists the possibility of rejection or her -- where there exists a definite yes to his java invitation? Let him know he has a chance: attracting men is not rocket science, it is just common sense.
