When you haven't been dating for a long while, getting back into the routine of dating is a frightening experience. Whether your relationship ended because you made some mistake or she was to blame is not the issue here. Life is what it is. You need to make the most out of it for yourself.
 
Here's a few relatively simple steps to take to begin dating again.
 
1. Take time to heal. Hey, relationships end for all sort of reasons. Before you begin a new one, make sure you've dealt with all the old hurts and disappointments from the old one. You and whoever you're going to date don't need the added baggage from what went wrong with your last girl. Deal with the anger and hurt. Find a way to let it go and get on with your life.
 
2. Take the time to figure out what you want in a woman. When you begin to date again, your want to make sure that your looking for someone that meets YOUR needs and desires are. This is only to yourself and to the woman you will eventually date.
 
3. Go out to have fun and be social first. You need to become comfortable being out in social setting by yourself. Have fun with your friend, or make new friends. Enjoy your time out when your by yourself. This will increase your confidence and make you more comfortable being out in public without the old girlfriend or ex-wife needing to be with you. Plus, you have the added advantage of getting noticed by single women as a man who is by himself.
 
4. After you get comfortable being in a social setting, start approaching women. Not just one or two, but a lot of women. You GET to practice the art of flirting, you GET to look them over without reproach. Dating is fun and pleasurable way to spend your time. So, enjoy yourself.
