- I will NEVER be happy alone
I gave in immediately to these thoughts, and sent text message after text message. It was like a disease I thought I could not stop, but in reality it was driving her further and further away.
What You Need To Accept
You need to accept the situation as reality. Your girlfriend or boyfriend has decide to leave you for whatever reason's, and you need to know that life will go on. If you find yourself thinking the above 'lies' you need to correct yourself. Tell yourself the following:
- I WILL find another girl/boy like him/her - there are plenty of fish in the sea
- There are things more important in my life apart from him/her
- He/She was not the best thing that happened to me
- I WILL be happy alone or with someone new.
Conclusion
When someone breaks up with you, and you had strong feelings for them, after the initial shock or sadness passes you will most likely feel overcome with desperation. It is this desperation which will drive your mind to create situations which are not true in order to get you to react.
