As a dating seeking single you know how important the first date is.  It’s a key factor to make a good impression.  One way to make a good first impression is to have a good dating etiquette.  This introduction-dating article explains some of the dating do’s and don’ts.

So, what is one of the most important aspects of dating etiquette?  You need to be on time.  Whether you are picking your date up or meeting him or her at a specific place, you must be prompt.  Tardiness does not make for a good first impression.  You need to be polite to your date an exhibit good manners.  Don’t be obnoxious and men, treat the ladies like ladies and ladies, act like ladies.  It’s all about having common sense when it comes to dating etiquette; it’s not rocket science.

If you are going out to eat, remember that this is a perfect opportunity to make or break the date.  Eating can be a messy job; depending on the food you are eating, so you want to make an effort to eat neatly.  Don’t lick your fingers and please chew with your mouth closed.  I know this is something that you must have learned from your mother when you were a child, but manners count and show your character.  It’s a great first impression maker.

Keep your focus on your date.  You are spending time alone, trying to get to know each other.  Don’t even think about taking a phone call during the date.  It’s disrespectful to take a call while you are out to dinner with people, let out on a date.  Of course, if it’s an emergency and you are waiting for a call from a family member for such a situation, let your date know that you may receive a call that evening.  But then take the call outside and try not to be too long.

Never be rude to the waiters at the restaurant nor to any of the other patrons.  It makes for an awful first impression and it shows your true character.  If you’re going to be rude, you need a reality check and should grow up and change your behavior.  As a dating seeking single, you need to keep the introduction dating factors in mind that honesty is the best policy and genuinely affects your chances at finding a love with a lasting commitment.  If the food is not good, don’t complain rudely.  Be polite and ask the waiter to have another plate of food brought out.

Make sure to be polite in your conversation.  Keep the topics light and don’t interrogate your date, but make sure to listen and try to find out what is important to your date, like hobbies etc.  Steer clear of religious and political discussions.  It’s best to keep these topics for a later time in the relationship when you have more of a handle on what your date’s perspective views are on these subjects.  Just be relaxed and have fun.
