4. Groom's cake: some wedding planners and couples who are planning their own wedding opt not to have a groom's cake. However, there are couples that would have liked to have had one but forgot to add it in with their plans and their budget. These cakes can be presented during the bachelor party, or it can be placed next to the wedding cake. This is completely up to the couple. Sometimes future wives plan a special cake to present to their future husband during the reception as a surprise.

5. Postponing mail and newspaper delivery: while this may sound like an odd part of wedding planning, it actually is an important step if the couple plans to leave for their honeymoon immediately following the wedding. The last thing they want to do is find a pile of wet newspapers (if it happens to rain or snow) on their stoop, or see that their mail blew out all over the place because the box became too full.
