Plentyoffish Vs. Livedatelove

One of the biggest money making machine in online businesses is dating website. Surprised? Don’t be. Everybody knows that sex sells and looking for a date in a way is the same as looking for plain old sex. There are top online dating websites that would do almost anything (like spending 75 million dollars on advertising campaign) for you to sign up but they are simply after your money with membership costs from $20 to $60 a month. But why pay for matchmaking service when you can get one for free? Therefore, I will not review sites that charge you for membership. Let’s talk about sites that offer same service for free.

There are two sites on my mind: Plenty of Fish and Live Date Love. Let’s review them:

Plenty of Fish is a well established site with millions of members and still growing. Yes, Millions – it’s not a typo. Though somewhat easy to use, the site is too sloppy for my taste. For most people it’s either you like it or you hate it. But the biggest problem is that the sole owner and developer of this site does not care about his clients. He can ban you for no reason at all, among millions of his clients you’re just one drop in the sea. And when he is making over 10 million dollars a year, do you think he would ever give a damn about you? How does he make his millions? – From Google advertisement ads placed on his website. Features: advanced search, mail, instant chat, forums, chemistry compatibility, blocking unwanted members.

Now, another site I would like to talk about is Live Date Love. Unlike Plenty of Fish it is a very new website with not so many members at the time of my review. But what Plenty of Fish lacks – Live Date Love has. Live Date Love looks and feels like a truly professional dating websites, it was a big surprise when I saw that it was completely free. If you e-mail Plenty of Fish for support, you’ll be lucky if you get a response in a week (many complain that they don’t get any response at all!). On the other hand, Live Date Love (since it is new and is trying to make its way in a competitive world of dating websites) wants its members to enjoy their stay and actually cares about them. When I e-mailed them a question, they answered me in 5 hours! (They promise to answer all inquiries within 48 hour period). What also unique about Live Date Love is that they accept people over 16 years old but you can feel safe as they limit minors to their age group. They also constantly monitor site for spammer and obscene photos. Features: advanced search, mail, instant chat, blocking unwanted members, forums, astrological compatibility, horoscopes, tarot card readings, jokes, classifieds, romance shop, videos. And I was told that more features are on the way.

I believe that Web Community should be about quality, not quantity. As the matter of fact, we already have quantity – billions of websites. It’s time to sort out the best and throw out the rest. But don’t just take my word for granted, why don’t you review them yourself?
