If I am to be honest, I can't name just one online dating site, which is the best one. It is very subjective and for different people different sites are best. People like different things and have different experiences with online dating sites and this makes them prefer one dating site over the other. What I can do, is tell you about my experience with such sites and leave it to you do decide which one is the best.
One of the really important things you shouldn?t sacrifice when looking for love are your beliefs, values and goals in life. Of course, you can make a compromise about issues of minor importance. However, it is an incredible mistake, when you are so desperate to find love that you are ready to sell your true personality. Your character has been building for decades and you can't (and shouldn't) change it overnight just to please somebody. The opposite is also true, so don't expect that your love will change him or her.
First, I would not go to those quick dating sites that only ask what gender and age is preferred. Wow! You will have so much information to help you select companionship, friendship, or launch a search for a lifetime partner! Not a good idea!
Sites, which require more information, are more suitable when you are searching gor a lasting relationship. More detailed profiles say more about the character and preferences of the other person and make it easier to notice if there are areas, where you are completely different. Also, richer profiles tend to disclose is the other party is trying to depict himself or herself in a suspiciously positive manner.
Identifying and avoiding the wrong kinds of people is not an easy task, unless you are a detective. But even if you are not a detective, your instincts could guide you, when you encounter a creep.
One other type of sites I generally avoid are the sites, which require a photo. Posting a photo on the Net means you are not anonymous anymore and anybody, who sees you on the street, will recognize you.
There are many stories about kids, who became victims of abuse and other crimes after disclosing too much information to the wrong people. But adults also make this mistake. So, if you don't want to endanger yours and your kids? safety, be very, very careful what information you make public!
It is the subtle nuances in the process of selecting the best online dating site that matter most. Caution is very important, so be really careful what and how much information you disclose. Don?t give your phone number or address to people whom you barely know. Also, when you are making arrangements to meet with somebody in person, ask for their permission to make a background check. Such measures are not extreme, when your safety is at stake!
