Putting the great in the “great outdoors"

* Hiking and walking trails – a little communing with nature by hiking on local walking trails or woods is a great way to spend an afternoon.
* A bike ride – find a local bike path or create your own ride. If you don’t own a bike, rentals are, in general, fairly affordable. Bike paths in particular are a great way to have a leisurely ride and get to know your date.
* Row, row, row a boat – another romantic activity that doesn’t a whole lot. If your town has a river, pond or lake nearby, chances are you can rent a boat, even in the city.
* Star gazing – whether it’s from the roof of your apartment building or in the city park, spreading out a blanket and watching the stars is about as romantic as it gets.
* Take me out to the ballgame – minor league baseball is another great take that’s affordable and fun.

“When you get right down to it, it’s about connecting with people. Being outside in the fresh air without the distractions of everyday life really helps that process.
