No need to be cooped up inside for dinner and a movie when there are an unlimited number of outdoor activities in Brisbane that make excellent romantic dates with someone special.

City Botanical Gardens

Since 1928, the City Botanical Gardens has served as an urban refuge housing thousands of colourful exotic and native plants and trees. The area consists of many paths and green lawns, and takes up the majority of one of the peninsulas jutting into the Brisbane River. You can enjoy strolling along the mangrove boardwalk or simply find a quiet spot for a lovely picnic. You can also dine at the Gardens Café or buy an ice cream cone from the little store along one of the pathways. It’s also a good idea to see which concerts are scheduled on the River Stage. You never know what who you might see!

Mt Coot-tha Lookout

For one of the best views of Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Glass House Mountains, take a trip to Mt Coot-tha Lookout. Make a reservation at either The Kuta Cafe or the Summit Restaurant and enjoy the lookout while you dine. While you’re out there, visit the Mt Coot-tha Gardens and experience 52 hectares exotic plant life from around the world. Only ten minutes from the city, Mt Coot-tha is definitely worth the trip!

Yeronga Park Heated Pools

Within the lush surroundings of beautiful Yeronga Park, you can find a little spot perfect with swimming pools, picnicking and lounging about. The pools at Yeronga Park are heated which means you can visit them all year round. This area houses everything you might need for a romantic day in the sun, including beach volleyball and barbeque facilities.

Bayside Parklands

With over 16 kilometres of parklands on the southern edge of Moreton Bay, the Bayside parklands offers mangroves, forest, beaches, creeks, mudflats and woodlands so there is never a shortage of things to do. Whether you fancy bushwalking, swimming, boating, or picnicking , you’ll enjoy a full day on your next visit. Don’t forget the romantic stroll along the parkland foreshore - the views are spectacular.

Einbunpin Lagoon

Just two minutes from Sandgate train station you will find Einbunpin Lagoon, a quaint outdoor haven filled with all sorts of bird life. You can enjoy the views around lagoon, or head across the road to enjoy the many cafes and restaurants.

Kangaroo Point Cliffs & Riverwalk

A popular spot for rock climbers and abseilers, Kangaroo Point is another great place from which to admire the city skyline. There are many picnic tables and barbecues along the riverwalk and pathways suitable for bothwalkers and cyclists.

Coochiemudlo Island

Better known as "Coochie", this beautiful island is perfect for exploring on a sunny afternoon. Coochie has it all for Brisbane singles – sandy beaches, walking trails, warm waters for sailing, and lots of marine life such as dolphins and turtles.

Colleges Crossing

Hire a canoe at Colleges Crossing and set out for a two-hour trip upriver towards the Mount Crosby treatment plant. Brisbane swingers - pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the flora and fauna as you go.
