These "shameful tactics" have affected people from California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia. These tactics come in the form of putting the person's name in the newspaper or in the internet. In fact, it has considered by these multiple states to be effective.
